BIOGRAPHY
Wells Christie


A native of Fulton, New York, Wells graduated from the Boston School of Electronic Music in 1979, and from Duke University (cum laude) in 1981 with a B.A. in Music and English Literature. Following college, Wells went on to have a “storied” career in the music business as music producer and hired gun to many music industry stars.

Introduced to Buddhist meditation in 1982, Wells has been an active member of the Shambhala Buddhist community ever since. He formally became a student of Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche in 1990.

Wells first experienced Rolfing® in 1996 with Certified Rolfer (and friend) Jim Pascucci. A couple of car accidents, surgery as a result of a serious skiing accident, and numerous sports injuries had left him wondering if he would ever enjoy the freedom of movement he had once enjoyed. Wells was so impressed by the results of Rolfing®, he ultimately was inspired to pursue training, and to become a Rolfer himself.

Wells received his certification from the Rolf Institute in Boulder, CO in 1998. Remaining in Boulder (the Rolfing® “capital” of the world), he cultivated his own Rolfing® practice while also taking advantage of the numerous Rolfers in residence there to continue deepening his skills, education, and understanding of Rolfing®. In the summer 2000, he completed his training and certification as a Reiki (Usui Shiki Ryoho) practitioner and teacher with Yvonne Gowdy.

In 2002, Wells relocated to his native central New York. His offices are located in downtown Syracuse and downtown Ithaca.
